ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Central Virginia and have spent my whole life exploring the waters of the Shenandoah Valley. For more than ten years, I’ve been fly fishing and tying flies—studying trout behavior and learning what works on Virginia’s streams. While I specialize in angling for trout, I also offer guided trips for bass.
My favorite species is the brook trout, Virginia’s only native trout species. Not only are they a keystone species of the Virginia ecosystem, I also believe they have the most striking markings of any trout. I’ve had the privilege of working with Trout Unlimited, a non-profit dedicated to trout and river conservation. I raised brook trout from eggs and releasing them into the Moormans River in collaboration with them—a project that deepened my appreciation for conservation and the health of our streams.
Over the years, I’ve fished waters across the country, from Pennsylvania and West Virginia to Colorado and Vermont. Still, nothing compares to the magic of our mountain streams here at home, especially my favorite place, the North Fork of the Moormans River.
I enjoy teaching anglers from beginner to advanced. Whether you need just a quick casting lesson or a full day on the river, I am dedicated to providing guidance to strengthen your skills as an angler.
When I’m not guiding, I’m pursuing a career in nursing school. Fly fishing remains my way of balancing life, grounding myself, and staying connected to the rivers that shaped me.
